Following Iranian missile strikes on Israel, the United States military raised combat alert across all branches. Marines were moved from barracks to airfields and loaded into C-17 transport aircraft alongside generators, ammunition, and combat supplies. At multiple bases, additional C-17s were packed with armored vehicles, tactical buggies, and heavy equipment. On the flight lines, maintenance crews worked nonstop — fueling fighters, mounting missiles and guided bombs, running full avionics diagnostics, testing flight controls and engines. Every aircraft was inspected, armed, and cleared for combat. As dusk fell, soldiers formed up, boarded the transports, and the C-17s took off one after another heading for the Middle East. Upon landing, unloading began immediately. The same aircraft turned around for more trips, ferrying troops from bases across the country.
