Ford Moves to Build Outside the USA - Shifting Away from the US.

When Ford Motor Co. announced on June 20 that it was going to move the assembly of its next-generation Focus from a plant in Wayne, MI, to China and bypass Mexico, a lot of people were stunned.

Ford is increasing its presence in China, shifting production of some models like the Lincoln Nautilus to China and importing these vehicles to the US, while also expanding joint ventures with Changan Automobile.
